Books do not have batteries. They require an interested mind to bring them to life. Without that interaction the best written books are so much dead paper

The purpose of my work is to open up and explore the experience of reading. On some projects, I'm developing ways of cracking open books for reluctant and non readers, in others I'm finding exciting new ways of enriching the experience for fluent readers.

In all this work the key is to start with the reader/potential reader and their interests, and then to provide an exciting and non judgemental atmosphere in which to engage with the pleasure that reading brings.
