Brief: Engage students in pupil referral units in creative reading and writing.
"This is good. I've never seen them so keen" - PRU teacher. "A sly and interesting form of learning" - PRU teacher.
I worked with students in four seperate pupil refferal units to create pages of graphic novel artwork. To accomplish that the students had to first be engaged in the project, in reading, in creating their own stories, and in devising a brief for a professional artist.
Successful outcomes: Four pages of excellent graphic art. A bank of images for the web site and lots of useful excercise to allow teachers to sustain the work.
